Swiwin offers a complete range of repair and rebuilding services.
Units returned for service are evaluated upon arrival and an estimate is
provided.
Motor repairs can range from simple bearing changes to
ingested parts. Therefore, we deal with a wide range of service issues.
Whatever the issue, we completely assess the condition of the turbine
and work with our customer to resolve the problem and get them back in
the air.
Periodic Maintenance CheckDepending on the manufacturer, turbines generally require maintenance and bearing changes every 25 hours.
The following items are checked:
• Turbine and NGV - Turbine and NGV are evaluated for signs of erosion or cracks
• Compressor and intake - Compressor and intake are inspected for any foreign object damages
• Overall appearance of internal parts - The overall health of the unit is noted
• Balance check and re balance of serviced motor
• Running Check of serviced motor
Evaluation of Motor and Estimate of RepairAn
evaluation and estimate are provided to our customers. For motors under
warranty, all repairs are covered with labor costs. For repairs not
covered under warranty, an evaluation is provided with estimated labor
costs. In the event that the motor is not salvageable, we will contact
you in order to discuss available options.
SWIWIN 1st Year
Warranty - First year warranty coverage begins the day you receive your
motor. 1st year warranty is stem to stern with the exception of
exclusions which are covered in our manual. Examples of non covered
damage is crash, water damage (flood), FOD, Damage, etc.
SWIWIN
Limited Lifetime Warranty - SWIWIN covers most internal turbine parts
for the life of the motor and is transferable to another owner. A one
time $50 administrative fee is charged to the new owner for transfer of
ownership. For a list of parts covered under the limited lifetime
warranty, please refer to our manual.
SWIWIN 25 hour service - In
order to maintain lifetime coverage, please maintain 25 hour service
intervals. The cost of the service is $300.00. During this service, the
motor is examined for any sign of wear. Bearings are changed and the
unit is re-balanced. Any needed, warranted parts are replaced with the
service. For items not covered under warranty, the owner will be
contacted before any work is commenced in order to discuss any estimated
costs. Please refer to our manual for more warranty and service
interval details and exclusions.
Older Engines - What constitutes a motor that might not be worth repairing?
In
general, the older the engine the less it is worth to expend large
efforts and money to repair. We will always try and guide our customers
to make the best choice, however, we leave it up to our customers to
decide for themselves based on all of the facts presented.
Below
is a list of high cost repairs. Depending on the age of the motor,
the costs associated with these repairs might start to reach or exceed
the estimated value of the motor.
- NGV/turbine wheel
- Bent Shaft
- Compressor/intake cover
- Electronics PCB smashed
- Burnt Motor
- Motor where a dry chemical fire extinguisher was used to extinguish flames while running
We
service most turbines but please contact us before sending in your
unit. Depending on the age and model, we may or may not be able to
ascertain parts. Bearings are the most common need for motors. We can
ascertain any bearing.
